classes FAQ

  • Our semester-based classes include things like Tutu Cute Ballet, Music Video Madness, Mime Troupe, Band Club, and more. All classes are project-based and end in a fun, student-driven performance or showcase.

  • Classes are typically grouped in clumps of a few years of age (ex: 2.5-5, 5-7, 8-12, etc.) and sometimes overlap when the programming suits it. There are huge development benefits to multi-age classrooms, ask us more!

  • Most classes are offered in 6–12 week sessions, so drop-ins are rare. We do offer a “free class week” at the beginning of each semester for anyone to try the classes they are interested in! If there’s space, we may offer a one-time trial — just ask!

  • Comfortable clothes for movement, closed-toed shoes (or dance shoes for ballet), and a water bottle. Specific needs will be listed in your confirmation email.

  • We partner with local schools and community centers to offer Jitterbug classes on-site, typically right after school.

  • In most cases, off-site classes are limited to enrolled students at the host location.

  • Check our After-School Classes page or email us — we’ll be happy to confirm. Want us at your school? Let us know — we love new partnerships!

productions FAQ

  • We produce child-focused, full-scale performances with auditions, rehearsals, and a final show that celebrates the students’ creativity and growth. Some past shows include:

    • Newsies Jr.

    • High School Musical Jr.

    • Winnie The Pooh

    • You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown

    • Mary Poppins, Jr.

    • Beauty & The Beast Jr.

  • Yes, but our auditions are over the top friendly and supportive — they help us get to know your child and place them where they’ll thrive.

  • Not at all! Productions are a great “next step” for kids looking to deepen their performing arts experience. Age ranges and requirements vary by show. Our shows are designed for a range of skill levels, and our team is here to support beginners and seasoned performers alike.

  • We have a Stage Crew option, where students help build sets, make costumes and props, and then crew the performances! This is a great option for students who want a piece of the magic but from behind the scenes, or who can’t commit to the rehearsal process and still want in on the fun!

  • Productions typically run over 10–12 weeks, with weekly rehearsals and additional rehearsals added closer to the performance. Rehearsal schedules are available prior to auditioning.

  • Yes — registration secures your audition spot and helps us plan cast sizes. You’ll receive details about the audition process after signing up.

  • Every performer receives a meaningful part! We tailor each show to the cast and ensure every child gets time to shine, regardless of experience or role size.

  • Yes! We keep costumes fun and manageable. Most are provided and included with production tuition.

  • Rehearsals are closed to encourage focus and independence. We’ll keep you updated on progress, and cast members love getting to surprise families with the show!

programming for the littles

  • Bug Club is our Parent’s Morning Out program for ages 2.5–5, potty-independent children. It’s a drop-off class full of art, music, movement, and imaginative play — a gentle intro to social settings and creative learning. Each session also includes a mix sensory play and free exploration. We keep things structured enough to feel safe and familiar, but open-ended enough to follow the kids’ curiosity.

  • Bug Club is offered Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Check the current schedule on Sawyer for up-to-date offerings.

  • While Bug Club isn’t academic in the traditional sense, it’s grounded in developmentally appropriate, play-based learning practices that support the whole child. At this age, children learn best through hands-on exploration, creative expression, and social interaction — and our program is designed to nurture just that.

Through music, movement, art, and imaginative play, we help children build emotional regulation, communication skills, confidence, and a sense of autonomy. These early experiences are foundational — when a child feels safe, connected, and capable in a group setting, they’re better equipped to take in new information, form relationships, and thrive in more structured learning environments down the road. We like to say we’re not just preparing them for school — we’re preparing them for life.

  • No — please send a nut-free snack, lunch, and water bottle with your child. We’ll have designated snack and lunch times each day.

  • LaMama & Me is our Grown-Up & Me programing — a sweet space for toddlers and caregivers to connect through classes like art and music. It’s year-round and community-focused, even offering special classes & events just for Mamas!

  • Bug Club is drop-off, while LaMama & Me is designed for shared experiences between caregiver and child. It’s also designed to support a community environment with in and out of studio opportunities for connection.

  • Yes — LaMama & Me is rooted in the belief that connection is the foundation for early learning. Our goal isn’t just to entertain toddlers — it’s to foster meaningful interactions between caregivers and children during a time of rapid development. Each class incorporates music, movement, sensory play, and creative exploration, all grounded in early childhood best practices.

At this stage, kids learn through mirroring, repetition, and shared experiences, so we create a space where caregivers aren’t just observers — they’re active participants in the magic. When children feel secure, seen, and supported, they begin building the social, emotional, and motor skills that lead to greater independence, confidence, and lifelong learning. And along the way, caregivers build community too — which is just as important.
