November is National Family Literacy Month and National Novel Writing Month! Join us throughout November for a series of drop-in playwriting and storytelling workshops. These 45-minute workshops are catered to children ages 7-12, and will cover the basics of character creation, plot development, and imagery articulation. Each workshop is an independent lesson, so your child can take one class, or take all! Explore the joys of literacy with us this November!
November 4th: Constructing Characters Learn the basics of character brainstorming and creation with this workshop! Each young writer will develop their character through drawings, descriptive writing, and a create a hand-written letter from their very own character!
November 11th: What's the Problem?! Writers in this workshop will discover how problems help to progress stories! Using improv comedy, students will use creative thinking to fix situational problems, then write their own short story including the solution to their problem!
November 18th: Over the River and Through the Woods This workshop will cover the power of descriptive words! Writers will begin by creating a list of adjectives to describe images of scenery, then will learn how to create their own imagery using only words!
Wednesday 5:00-5:45PM Ages 7-12
Cost: $15 per class or $40 for the full 3 class intensive. Registration Fee: One time registration fee of $25 for all new students.
