What are your camp hours?
Primary camp is from 9:00am-1:00pm.
Production camp is from 9:00am-4:00pm.
Carpool begins at 8:50am each morning.
Do you offer early drop-off or late pick-up?
For an additional fee, we do offer an early drop-off option beginning at 8:30am. After a full action packed day, campers are pretty exhausted by 4pm, we do not offer an extended afternoon option.
What is the camper/staff ratio:
Jitterbug Performing Arts focuses on building children's confidence and letting them have a voice! The only way to do that is by keeping classes small. Typical class size is between 6-12 children with 1-3 teachers in a class.
What qualifications does your staff have?
All Jitterbug teachers have extensive backgrounds with children and education. All lead teachers also have degrees, or have an immense background in theatre. Background checks are performed on all teachers and assistant teachers.
Will my child eat lunch at camp?
Yes, please send them with a sack lunch and snack! We will have a snack time mid morning and lunch time around noon! If your Jitterbug stays for production, please send an extra snack.
What will my child do at camp?
Each day or week ends with a performance. Throughout the day/week, Jitterbugs are working on songs, dances, possibly skits or puppet shows, movies and more for their performance. Camp curriculum includes singing, dancing, acting games & improvisations, costume making, prop creation, set dressing and of course, tons and tons of fun! Our nurturing atmosphere allows children's confidence to grow and provides an outlet for children who already perform all day every day!
Will my child get to bring anything home from camp?
Yes!! Each week, children make their own costumes! Campers will also be creating any props or scenery needed for the theme and will be able to bring those home as well!
Where is camp located?
At our studio in Smyrna (1125 Concord Road)
