Today we had another awesome Stagecraft class! In Stagecraft, your Jitterbug will learn all about the technical, behind the scenes aspects of theatre like sound design, lighting design, costume design, and prop creation!
That crazy character you see above is Judge Yertle the Turtle, a character from Seussical The Musical! Our Jitterbug Production class has already been hard at work for several weeks now rehearsing this Dr. Seuss inspired musical!
Our Stagecraft class was given the task of creating Yertle's judge wig! To do this, we employed concepts like color mixing, textured painting, and good old fashioned imagination to create this wig from a plain piece of fabric, some old paper towel tubes, pillow stuffing, and a little bit of paint!
With the help of Mr. Nick, Lana mixed and created this shade of grey and added some textured brush strokes to make the fabric base of the wig look more realistic and grab visual interest! Lana is so proud of her design and can't wait for you guys to see the finished product!
We still have lots of open slots available for our Stagecraft class which is held on Mondays from 4pm-5pm and will run through the end of February! All of our Stagecraft students will also have the honor of having their names featured in the program for Seussical The Musical as its trusty design team! You can register for this class online or in person here at the studio! We hope to see you guys there!
