What an amazing day!!
Our campers have been working hard to prepare for their shows tomorrow, and we know you'll love what they've put together!
Bugs Ahoy Camp at the Main Studio
Both classes rehearsed all of their songs today AND make some beautiful costume pieces: Hawaiian Leis!
Ms. Ashley's class worked a lot on celebrating each other today! They made finishing touches on their beautiful costumes, and practiced their lyrics all day; during snack time, lunch time, and crafts!
Ms. Rhianna's class spent time today working on character development. They played various games where they stayed in character throughout. They also used an acting technique, recall, to connect with a feeling of nostalgia for one of their songs. Their pirate ship imagination sheets were exceptionally creative today!
Songwriting Camp at the Bug Shack
Today Songwriting Camp kicked off with some poetry! They all were given different themes to write a poem around, and then they shared them aloud. This helped them work on their rhythm and vocal inflections.
The Songwriter of the Day today was Sarah Bareilles. Her music was played through snack and lunch time, with special focus placed on her lyrics.
Part of their rehearsals for the show tomorrow was adding background vocals! The songwriters who felt it would add another dimension performed their song for the rest of the class, while working with Ms. Emily to find the best places for layers and harmonies. Tomorrow's show is sure to blow everyone away!
Main Studio Production:
We had an amazing day in production! Each child had their chance to shine as they learned their introductions for the final show!
As rehearsals were in full swing for their show tomorrow, Mr. John talked to your performer about characterization! Each child was able to create their own pirate character to make come alive on the stage!
If you dare to question a pirate, be sure to ask your bug about the treasure maps they created today!
