We've made it through the first few weeks of classes and we're starting to do some really awesome, fun, creative work with all of our Jitterbugs!
Our Jitter Babies and Jitter Tots classes have made leaps and strides not only in creating their very own sensory book, but also in developing and honing their budding fine motor skills! Those little Jitterbugs are becoming pros at their shapes, colors, and describing how all of our fun sensory materials feel AND getting to boogie down while they do it too!
Our Jr. Bugs and Jitterbug Kids have started choreographing and learning their first songs of the semester that they will be performing at their recital in December! Miss Emily's Jr. Bugs class is learning "Journey to the Past" from one of my favorite animated movie musicals, Anastasia! My Jitterbug Kids class is learning how to be sassy and bold in their song "Good Morning, Baltimore!" from the musical, Hairspray!
Our Production class is doing Seussical the Musical and we've already choreographed one of our group numbers and had a read/sing through (or as we like to call it, a highlighting party) of the script! After hearing how fun and energetic the music is, all of our actors and actresses are so excited to start learning their parts! Here are some pictures from our first rehearsal:
Even though our Production class has already been cast, we still have many spots available in our Stage Craft class which is the class that has the awesome job of creating set pieces, designing costumes, hair, and make-up, painting the back drops, and learning how to run the light and sound board for Seussical! Mr. Nick, Miss Emily, and I have so many amazing, kooky, fun, Seuss-y ideas that we want your little Jitterbugs to help us bring to life on stage!
See you guys at Jitterbug!
